I haven’t written anything in over a month.
I think the last time I wrote a story was the week our first podcast was being edited. And that was a month ago, I think.
In the time since, the podcast has become my baby. I really enjoy doing it and working on it, and I sincerely hope that everyone who listens to it enjoys it. I’ve spoken to Nik (Gaucho) about it, and he’s allowed me to anoint myself Podcast Czar. (I didn’t run that title by him and I’m not going to.)
But I still haven’t written anything.
When Nik first asked me to join GPA, my writing hadn’t been put anywhere. It was just sitting on my phone after I wrote it. I had been writing for four months, and I was happy with what I wrote. That writing will run out on March 26th. I may have some other pieces I’ve neglected, but as it stands, that will be the endpoint.
Some of you may have noticed that I haven’t posted anything on Tuesday for two weeks. Tuesdays were days for lighter fare. I haven’t been writing anything, much less lighter fare.
But there’s an upside to this.
See, GPA is in a transitional phase right now. We’re like a pupa, turning from a pupa into a butterfly. But that process isn’t immediate. The pupa first turns into a sort of goo, breaking down its own body to turn from a caterpillar to a butterfly. Certain organs remain as they were, certain ones disappear entirely, and certain ones turn into different parts in different places. Here’s an article. (And a video, for added effect.)
GPA is bringing on a lot of new artists, and I could not be happier that we’re able to do that. And that means more content for you, the viewers. This is an opportunity for both of us.
From now on, I will be posting one story a week, on Thursdays. I’ve created a few different worlds and a bunch of different storylines that I feel need to be wrapped up. I want to finish up those stories and give them the conclusions they deserve, then, I will take up podcasting for GPA as my full-time affair.
I will not be going anywhere. I am not leaving. You can still hear me on the podcast, which I am extremely proud of and which will only get better. And I will be posting some stories from time to time, if I write anything new. But for now, I should leave the writing to the writers, and the art to the artists.
And I’ll see you next Thursday.
